He has been actively involved in the Transportation Planning Division of the American Planning Association and serves as Co-Chair of the Technical Committee of the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO).

Work Background:

Over 22 years of experience in the planning, administration and operation of transportation systems, with an emphasis in regional transportation planning. From November 1997 through April 1999, Bill was the Research Director of the Norman Y. Mineta International Institute for Surface Transportation Policy Studies. Prior to those dates, he was the Director of Transportation for the Mid-America Regional Council, the metropolitan planning organization for the bi-state Kansas City metro area. Before that he served for six years as the Planning Manager for the Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission in Reno, Nevada.

Education:

B.S. Degree in Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from San Jose State University.
