CUTC Summer Meeting
June 25-27, 2008
MTI's executive director Rod Diridon has been serving as president of the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) this year. That means SJSU will host the CUTC Summer Meeting - a gathering of more than 100 representatives from across the U.S. They will assemble at the Boccardo Business Center of the university's College of Business. The event will be packed with policy meetings, funding strategies, best practices, and discussions about the future direction of the organization. A special track will be held for administrative assistants.
Other activities include an outing to the IMAX theater at the San Jose Museum of Technology and a wine tasting and Italian dinner at Guglielmo's Vineyards in Gilroy. Golf is available for anyone who wants a bit of exercise.
If you are a CUTC member, please make your reservations early. We have a special rate at the Fairmont Hotel, but the discount will be held only until May (date). Book directly by calling (number) and using reservation code (number). We also have a limited number of studio apartments on campus for $75 per night.

You're Invited to MTI's Scholarship Banquet
Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at SJSU's Barrett Ballroom
The Mineta Transportation Institute at San José State University will honor its newest graduates as they receive their Masters of Science in Transportation Management. The annual scholarship awards banquet and graduation will be held Saturday, June 28 at the SJSU Student Union’s Barrett Ballroom. The evening’s festivities will begin with an early-evening wine tasting reception, followed by dinner and the graduation ceremony.
We’ll have notable speakers, our graduates, their families, transportation leaders, elected officials, and people like you. MTI’s Board of Trustees, all national transportation leaders, will also attend.
During the event, the winner of this year’s Garrett Morgan National Sustainable Transportation contest for middle school students will describe their project and collect a $500 prize.
The banquet raises scholarship money for students enrolled in MTI’s graduate program in transportation management.
